Transfer Priority and Concessions for Siblings Caring Differently-Abled

A new order grants special concessions and priority in general transfers to siblings responsible for the care of differently-abled individuals. This benefit applies in cases where parents are either absent or unable to provide care. To facilitate this, the norms and guidelines for general transfers and appointments of state employees have been revised and approved.

Key benefits of this initiative include:

Personalized care: Siblings can provide more personalized and compassionate care due to their close familial bond.

Safe environment: A home environment with siblings offers a safer and more comfortable space for individuals with disabilities.

Improved mental health: The emotional support and familiar surroundings can significantly enhance the mental well-being of the person with disabilities.

Social inclusion: Remaining within the family unit promotes social inclusion and participation in community activities.

To avail of this benefit, siblings may need to provide necessary documentation to prove their relationship with the person with a disability and their ability to provide adequate care.

This policy is a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive society for individuals with disabilities. By recognizing the importance of familial care, the government is empowering siblings to play a crucial role in the lives of their disabled brothers and sisters.
