Financial assistance from the Department of Co-operation to those below the poverty line


The Department of Co-operation had issued an order regarding the provision of financial assistance through Co-operative Banks to each BPL / AAY family who did not receive Social Security Pension or other Government Financial Benefits (Order No. 4650/2021 / Finance Order) in the light of which Rs.1000 / - per BPL / AAY family. The government issued an order directing the payment. The Covid pandemic negatively affected the livelihood of the poorest people in the state. There are many families all over Kerala who depend solely on government financial assistance such as social pensions and other economic benefits from Government of Kerala. In this context, the financial assistance provided by the Department of Co-operation to those below the poverty line has provided economic relief to their daily living to some extent.
