Kerala government approves 138 new higher secondary batches


In response to the shortage of Plus One seats in higher secondary schools across the Malabar region, the government has mandated the temporary allocation of 138 higher secondary batches for the 2024-25 academic year, to be distributed among various government schools in the Malappuram and Kasaragod districts. This academic year, 425,671 students have qualified for higher education by passing the SSLC examinations. A total of 433,471 seats are available across government, aided, and unaided higher secondary schools for Plus One studies.

The Department of Public Education has sanctioned temporary additional batches in Malappuram and Kasaragod districts in the main stage of Plus One admission.In Malappuram district, a temporary order has been issued for 120 higher secondary batches across 74 government schools, while 18 additional batches have been sanctioned for Kasaragod district.
