Rubber Farmers Receive Major Relief as Support Price Rises to Rs. 250

The Finance Department has issued an order increasing the support price of rubber to ₹250 per kilogram, providing relief to rubber farmers in the state. The decision is in line with the commitment made in the revised budget for the financial year 2026-27.

In view of the significant increase in the cost of rubber production, farmers, rubber producers’ associations, and public representatives had been requesting an enhancement of the existing support price of ₹200 per kilogram. Considering the concerns of the farming community, the government has decided to revise the support price under the Rubber Production Incentive Scheme.

The revised support price of ₹250 per kilogram will be applicable to rubber sale bills issued from 3 July 2026 onwards. The scheme ensures income protection for farmers by guaranteeing the support price even when market prices fall. The difference between the market price and the support price will be credited to the farmers’ accounts as an incentive.

The increase in support price is expected to help farmers meet the rising costs of cultivation, including expenses on fertilizers, labour, and other inputs. The enhanced rate will also encourage farmers to continue rubber cultivation and contribute to the stability and growth of the rubber sector. This measure provides greater financial security to rubber-growing families and reduces the impact of market fluctuations on their livelihoods.
